Crop fire near Helmsley – crews and farmers battle blaze
Two firefighters were called to the scene off the B1257 near Helmsley on Wednesday (July 15).
The fire measured around 200m by 100m and was located from High Street to Rievaulx Bank, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
A service spokesperson said the fire had been extinguished by 3.30pm with crews leaving the scene.
“Crews are now leaving this incident, the fire is extinguished and advice has been shared with farmer,” they said at 3.30pm on Wednesday.
