Dalmatian siblings reunite in Yorkshire for first birthday

Owners travelled from as far afield as Scotland and Somerset to reunite the pups as they marked their first birthday, choosing Fourways Campsite in Foggathorpe, East Yorkshire, as a convenient halfway point for the dog-loving families.

Carol Countess Castle Stewart, who was involved in the gathering, said 11 owners and six Dalmatians made the trip for the special weekend.

“Mum Dash, who made the whole thing possible, and their Aunt Dotty joined babies Toulouse, Rosa, Freddy and Samson,” she said.

The only notable absentee was brother Loki, who missed the fun though the group is hoping he can make the next reunion.

The canine guests and their humans received a warm welcome at Fourways Campsite, with some of the owners also finding time for a visit to The Black Swan pub.

A walk along the old railway track into nearby Bubwith was followed by a picnic lunch supplied by the Jug and Bottle Delicatessen.

Then came the main event: a birthday party back at the campsite, complete with a cake, champagne, party bags and, naturally, doggie bags for the four-legged guests.

Carol added: “There was a super welcome from Sue at the site who looked after everyone very well. Thank you again to Sue and Martin Kirkham for hosting us. We look forward to next time!”
