The event in honour of Dave Myers started back in 2024 and has seen thousands of motorbike enthusiasts travel from London to his home town in Barrow, Cumbria.

It is coming back for a third and final edition on Saturday, June 20, but the other half of the Hairy Bikers shared on social media on Tuesday, May 26 that he will be unable to attend.

He said: “I won’t be on the Dave Day ride this year – I hope you have a fantastic ride.

“Unfortunately, I’m scheduled to be out of the country filming, so I’ll tell you a little bit about that a bit later on.

“It will be a wonderful day, the team behind it – Jason ‘Woody’ Woodcock and Adelle Hutton – will make it as wonderful as it has been for the past two rides.”

In the past two editions, Si has led the convoy from the capital to Furness alongside Dave’s wife Lili.

She is still set to be a key part of the celebrations, including an appearance at Barrow Raiders for a Dave Day party.

Si continued: “So, in honour of Dave, I hope you have a great, great – please ride safe and don’t forget about the community and the fellowship that we bring to each other.

“Have a wonderful day, I’m so sorry I can’t be there but that’s just the way it is.”

A fundraising page has been set up this year to encourage donations in Dave’s honour, which can be found here.

As well as bringing in money for NSPCC Childline, Dave Day 2026 will also give half of its proceeds to Barrow-based charities to support the people of the town.

“Barrow-in-Furness will be, of course, as amazing as it always is – it’ll open the town for you and you’ll all have a blast,” Si added.

“Lots and lots and lots of love, and make sure if you can to give a little bit to the charities that we’re asking you to give to.”
