Chisora turns up to press conference with Farage on a tank

Tonight, heavyweight icons Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder will clash in front of a baying London crowd.

This will be the final fight in Chisora’s storied, up-and-down career; at least the Briton (36-13, 23 KOs) claims it will be, though retirement has long seemed a daunting prospect to the 42-year-old. Across the ring at the O2 Arena, Wilder’s own career may be on the line, even if the ex-world champion suggests he will carry on regardless of the result.

The American, 40, enters this fight on a 2-4 run after his long, dominant title reign, and has appeared reluctant to use his generational power in recent bouts. But Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) will need it against Chisora, given the latter’s trademark resilience and engine.

The fight is set to go ahead despite late drama, with Wilder complaining about his gloves on Friday before the issue was resolved.
