The deal will will broaden the Ilfracombe company’s UK footprint, it said
A Devon engineering group has acquired a Tiverton fabrication and welding business for an undisclosed sum. Ilfracombe-based Expromet Technologies Group said adding Tiverton Fabrications to its portfolio would broaden its UK footprint and allow it to offer casting, machining, welding, fabrication and assembly across its sites.
Expromet was established a decade ago and includes Romsey-based Haworth Castings (sand and gravity die casting), Devon-based Investacast (investment casting and pressure die casting) and Somerset-based Metaltech Precision (CNC machining and fabrication).
The group serves customers in the defence, aviation, marine, medical, energy and automotive sectors.
Tiverton Fabrications, meanwhile, was founded in 1983 and supplies precision welded tubes and cylinders for a number of industries, including cryogenic, pump and medical. It has customers around the world.
Rob Guest, chief executive of Expromet Technologies Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tiverton Fabrications to Expromet.
“This acquisition marks another important step in Expromet’s strategy to build a group of complementary precision engineering businesses.
“Tiverton Fabrications’ wealth of expertise across engineering processes is a natural extension of our existing casting, welding and machining capabilities, allowing us to offer customers a comprehensive manufacturing solution from concept to finished assembly.”
Noel Sugden, production director of Tiverton Fabrications, said: “Joining Expromet opens up new opportunities for our customers and our team, and we look forward to working with Expromet Group.
“Expromet’s investment, technical capability and global industry experience will allow us to expand our capabilities while continuing to deliver the high standards and personal service that our customers expect.”
Mr Guest said Tiverton Fabrications would bolster the group’s domestic manufacturing scope.
He added: “Our goal is to make it easier for customers to source complex, high-quality components and assemblies. With Tiverton Fabrications joining the group, we can deliver a broader range of manufacturing processes under one roof, supported by global sourcing partnerships that provide resilience and efficiency to customers requiring performance critical components across demanding supply chains.”
