Donald Trump Threatens To ‘Drive Iran Into Hell’ If It Doesn’t Agree Peace Deal

Donald Trump has threatened to “annihilate” Iran and “drive them into hell” if the country’s leaders do not agree a peace deal to end the war.

The US president told the United Nations General Assembly in New York there would be “no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations”.

However, he insisted he was still confident of striking an agreement with Tehran, but not until after November’s midterm elections in the US.

Trump said: “I have a big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before? Maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world.

“Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic, and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again?

“Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations?

“But I believe we’ll make a deal, right after the elections, because it doesn’t make sense for them not to.

“They’re waiting to see how I do in the midterm election. What they don’t realise is that I’m not running. I did that already, and won in a landslide.

“I’ll be here for two and a half years. I give absolutely no credence, and will give no credence, to the election when it comes to Iran. It doesn’t even enter my mind.”

Trump’s comments are the latest in a long line of threats he has made to Iran since America and Israel began the war in February.

At the time, he said it would only last a few weeks, and he has repeatedly claimed victory in the seven months since.

Despite that, there is still no end in sight to a war which has led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting the global supply of oil and leading to economic disruption around the world.
