Everything you need to know

  • Gary Jamieson, brother of gangster Stephen “Jimmy” Jamieson, set upon a man at a remote cottage in Inchinnan, near Glasgow, on January 17 last year. He, along with cocaine dealer Steven Caddis subjected the man to a savage attack that left him scarred for life.
  • They rained punches and kicks on the man’s head and body and hit him on the head with a brick.
  • Jimmy’s dad George and brother Darren were then arrested for assaulting police officers investigating the attack.
  • The cops were attacked while trying to search Gary Jamieson’s home in Glasgow’s Priesthill. George, 61, kicked PC Colin Todd on the body, while Darren, 31, elbowed PC Gary Nelson.
  • All four men were convicted previously and were due to be sentenced on Friday. But background reports requested by the court ahead of sentencing had not been prepared by social workers, and the case was further adjourned until next month.
