- Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) has commissioned a “rapid but thorough” review of its neuroscience unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. This unit is responsible for treating critical conditions such as complex brain injuries and head trauma cases.
- The inquiry will be conducted independently by experts from two official Royal Colleges. This step was taken following specific concerns raised regarding aspects of the neuroscience services.
- Rather than focusing on a single staff member, the investigation will examine the work of several clinical teams across the service. The goal is to identify ways to strengthen clinical governance and management within these departments.
