Everything you need to know ahead of Shildon Live 2026

Shildon Live will take place on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, with organisers urging visitors to plan their journey in advance due to limited parking near the site.

Here’s everything you need to know before attending Shildon Live 2026.

When and where is it?

Shildon Live takes place at Hackworth Park in Shildon.

Friday’s event runs from 5.30pm until 11pm, with last entry at 9.30pm. The opening night is an over-16s event focused on DJs and dance music.

Saturday’s family-friendly festival runs from 11am until 11pm, with last entry at 10pm.

Who is performing?

Friday night is dedicated to dance music and club classics.

The line-up includes Ultrabeat, famous for their song Pretty Green Eyes and DJ Paul Taylor alongside Jon Fazak and Trixy, with old skool, electro house, retro and bounce music throughout the evening.

Saturday focuses on live music, with folk rock band Lindisfarne headlining.

Other acts on the bill include The Skapones, The New Jerseytones, OasisJam and country singer Laura Aston.

Organisers say the programme features a range of genres including ska, country, Britpop, 60s and 70s music, and punk.

Is Saturday suitable for families?

Yes. Organisers describe Saturday as their family day, featuring live bands, food stalls and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages.

Children under 14 can attend free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Anyone aged 14 or over will need a valid ticket.

How much are tickets?

Tickets will be available on the gate for £28 for anyone who has not already purchased online.

What food and drink is available?

Food stalls and licensed bars will be available throughout the festival.

Visitors are also welcome to bring a small picnic and sealed bottles of soft drinks or water.

However, outside alcohol is not permitted and will be confiscated if brought onto the site.

What is the reusable cup scheme?

As part of efforts to reduce single-use plastic waste, all drinks will be served in reusable cups.

Festivalgoers will receive a discount on drinks each time they return and reuse their cup at the bar.

Visitors can also receive the same discount if they bring their own government-stamped drinking cup.

Unstamped cups cannot be used and attendees will need to purchase a festival cup instead.

Cups can be taken home at the end of the event, but refunds are not available for returned cups.

Parking and travel information

Parking at Hackworth Park is extremely limited and organisers are strongly advising people to arrive early or use public transport.

Free public parking is available a short walk from the venue at the Robson Street car parks, postcode DL4 2HP and DL4 1EB.

Visitors can also pre-book parking spaces through services such as JustPark and YourParkingSpace, with daily rates starting from around £4.40.

The festival site is also close to Shildon Railway Station and local bus routes.

What is the weather forecast?

Organisers say there will be a covered area providing some shelter, but Shildon Live is an outdoor event and will go ahead regardless of the weather.

Festivalgoers are being encouraged to bring suitable clothing, including wellies, umbrellas and raincoats.

Rain is forecast for both Friday and Saturday, according to the Met Office.

What can visitors expect?

Alongside the music programme, visitors can enjoy food vendors, bars and a festival atmosphere throughout the weekend.

Organisers said: “Every year, families, friends, and festival-goers of all ages come together to enjoy brilliant live acts, fantastic food, and an unbeatable atmosphere.”

The event continues to be run by a dedicated team without outside funding and relies on community support and sponsorship to continue each year.

Organisers said the aim is to “keep the music alive” while bringing people together in the town each summer.
