Greater Anglia services running between Cambridge and Stansted Airport might be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised. The disruption is expected to last until 3pm.

Network Rail engineers are currently onsite to carry out a detailed inspection of the area. Customers travelling today can use their ticket for no extra cost on the following services:

  • Thameslink and Great Northern services between Cambridge and London Kings Cross
  • London Underground services on all reasonable routes between Kings Cross and Liverpool Street
  • Alternative Greater Anglia services between Cambridge and Audley End

Rail replacement buses have also been requested to run between Audley End and Stansted Airport. They are expected to be in place for 1.30pm.

Customers may be able to claim compensation if their journey has been delayed by the disruption.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “A tree blocking the line at Elsenham, means that all lines are disrupted. As a result, services running between Cambridge and Stansted Airport / Bishops Stortford may be cancelled, delayed up to 40 minutes or revised.
