Fire burns 80 metres of hedge and farm in Green Hammerton
Two fire crews were brought to Glisthwaite Lane in Green Hammerton at 9.16pm on Friday (July 10).
At the time, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire had spread approximately two metres into a nearby field of standing crop.
The fire was extinguished before a thermal imaging camera checked for further hotspots, a service spokesperson said.
They added: “The local farmer was informed of the fire before crews left the incident.”
