Emergency services are battling a large fire which has broken out in central Aberdeen. Emergency services were called to Park Road near to Constitution Street after the alarm was raised shortly before 6pm on Monday, August 17.

Crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene after the blaze started in the derelict building. As of 7pm, the control room said the situation was ongoing with four appliances and one height appliance on the scene.

Videos shared on social media show grey smoke billowing from the windows and roof of the property. Police and fire fighters are on scene in another video as crews begin to tackle the blaze.

Police Scotland warned residents to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid the area.

Road closures are in place in Park Road, Roslin Street, Roslin Place and Constitution Street.

There have been no reports of any injuries.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Road closures are in place on Park Road, Roslin Street, Roslin Place and Constitution Street, Aberdeen due to a fire, reported at around 6pm on Monday, August 17.

“Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed. Please avoid the area.”
