Firefighters called to ‘wood fire’ on Bella Street, Bolton
At around 7pm tonight, Wednesday, August 19, firefighters were called to a fire “involving a large quantity of wood.”
The service said the fire broke out at a derelict building on Bella Street in Bolton, and crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
They left the blaze after around an hour, and photos from the scene show billowing smoke in the air.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 7.02pm on Wednesday 19th August 2026, three fire engines from Bolton Central, Bolton North and Atherton fire stations were called to attend a fire involving a large quantity of wood at a derelict building on Bella Street, Bolton.
“Crews arrived quickly and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“Firefighters made the scene safe before departing after approximately 1 hour.”
