Firefighters tackle blaze behind former Stockton pub

Cleveland Fire Brigade were called to Sheraton Street in the Oxbridge area of Stockton around 8.30pm on Wednesday (September 9).

The fire is understood to have been behind the former Old Moor Pub building, which has been closed and left derelict since 2012 according to CAMRA.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: “We were called at 8.31pm to an incident at Sheraton Street, Oxbridge, Stockton.

“One fire appliance was in attendance from Stockton.

“The stop call was received at 9.07pm.”

The cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed.

The Old Moor pub was damaged by a fire in 2004, when part of its first-floor ceiling collapsed as crews tackled the blaze.
