First picture of young woman killed in horror bus crash on Valentine’s Day

A young woman who died in a horror crash involving a bus and car on Valentine’s Day has been named by police as Claudia Jaczyk.

Emergency services raced to the collision involving the two vehicles on Ballyrobin Road in Templepatrick, Northern Ireland, on February 14. Claudia Jaczyk, 23, who was driving the Citroen car involved, tragically died at the scene.

The driver of the bus, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police say inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Stewart from the Collision Investigation Unit told our sister title, Belfast Live: “Officers attended alongside emergency services partners, however, the driver of the Citroen was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The driver of the bus, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with the police investigation, is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 341 of 14/02/26.”
