Fishergate in York closed due to overnight storm damage

This morning, the eastbound A1036 Tower Street coming out of York city centre was closed after the junction with Piccadilly and Fishergate with traffic turning right into Lead Mill Lane, opposite The Postern Gate pub.
City of York Council is advising vehicles travelling east from Tower Street to divert via Piccadilly and Walmgate Bar.

A spokesperson for the council said it will provide an update following an inspection of the road.
