Gladiators viewers believe they spotted Roman Kemp tonight

The BBC show is now airing its third series with father-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh back hosting.

The series started two weeks ago on Saturday, January 17 and fans have seen the new Destruction and Everest challenges play out so far.

Tonight, new contestants, including Tyler Spence, went up against the Gladiators but viewers suggested the primary school teacher from Wigan looked like Roman Kemp just minutes into the show.

Gladiators viewers share thoughts on Roman Kemp lookalike

The One Show presenter and son of Martin and Shirley Kemp, is not taking part as it isn’t a game show for celebrities, but viewers couldn’t help but notice the resemblance.

On X, one said: “Viking v Roman #Gladiators”.

Another said: “Roman Kemp on #Gladiators??”


Gladiators fans take to Reddit to share what they miss about the original series


This viewer commented: “Is it a lookylikey special? Aquaman versus Roman Kemp? #Gladiators”.

Contender Elliot was also likened to Gladiator Hammer during the show, since they both sport long brown hair.

One viewer even said Elliot looked like Aquaman, who has a similar head of hair.

The show saw four new contestants enter the arena in heat three tonight:

  • Millie (28) from Cleethorpes
  • Ellie (37) from Edinburgh
  • Tyler (30) from Wigan
  • Elliot (40) Devon
