‘Half-naked’ man causes stir outside Sainsbury’s in York
The incident took place outside Sainsbury’s Local in Piccadilly at approximately 2.30pm on Monday (August 10).
An eyewitness said that the topless and barefoot man was involved in a “commotion” with three security staff.

He said: “Myself and a few others shoppers were wondering what was going on.
“Hopefully those involved are all Ok and the situation is all under control.”
Another added: “I know it’s very hot at the moment, but some customers may have been concerned about the hygiene of it in a Sainsbury’s Local.
“I couldn’t see any emergency services involved so hopefully it didn’t escalate too much.
“It was all a bit peculiar, but I hope he is ok and getting the help he needs, if required.”
