Hambleton Grange – couple celebrate 75 years of marriage

Tony and Joy Bull marked their diamond double anniversary on January 27 at Hambleton Grange Care Home in Thirsk with a celebration surrounded by residents, family, and friends, some of whom joined virtually.

The event was attended by Reverend Mary Rolls from St Mary’s Church, who brought flowers, and the Lady Mayoress, Shirley Ward.

The couple also received a congratulatory card from King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Elaine Snowden, lifestyle manager at the care home, said: “It was such a joyful occasion.

“Joy’s face was full of smiles, and Tony was so grateful.

“It was a real privilege to help celebrate such a special milestone with them.”

During the afternoon, Tony and Joy opened cards and gifts, admired bouquets.

Their daughter, Bev Rutherford, expressed her gratitude to those who helped make the day memorable.

She said: “Thank you for making it so special.”

Tony Bull also shared his appreciation for the care home’s efforts.

He said: “Thank you for your thoughtful gift – it brought back treasured memories of our wedding day.”
