Kyron was remembered by his brother as a ‘happy, loving and special child’
A schoolboy injured in a serious crash last month has now died.
The nine-year-old, named as Kyron, was critically injured during a two-car collision on Masshouse Lane in Kings Norton, Birmingham, on July 28.
An off-duty nurse, police and paramedics worked on the boy and restarted his heart and he was then rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
But he has sadly now died.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “A nine-year-old boy has sadly died following a collision on Masshouse Lane, Kings Norton on Tuesday, 28 July.
“His family have asked for privacy at this tragic time, and we would ask that you respect their wishes at this time.”
‘Our family is completely heartbroken’
Kyron’s brother, Darnel Gittens, has since shared a heartbreaking tribute to his little brother as the family launched a fundraiser for the funeral service.
He described his sibling as a “happy, loving and special child” who was “always full of dreams and determination.”
Writing on a GoFundMe page, he said: “Kyron was such a happy, loving and special child. He loved Pokémon and dinosaurs, and he was always full of dreams and determination.
“He had so much he wanted to achieve in life and was the kind of person who wanted to turn his dreams into reality.”
He went on: “As his big brother, I could never have asked for a better little brother.
“The thought of having to say goodbye to him is something I never imagined I would have to face, and our family is completely heartbroken.”

At the time of publication, £6,315 had been raised towards a target of £11,000.
Darnel started the GoFundMe page in a bid to give his little brother the “beautiful and dignified funeral he deserves.”
He added: ” We want to give him the best possible farewell and celebrate the wonderful little boy that he was.
“Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to our family during this incredibly painful time.
“If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also be greatly appreciated.
“Kyron, I love you so much, You will always be my special little brother, and you will never be forgotten.”
