The former Coronation Street actress dined with her children at The Clog and Billycock on Billinge End Road.

The mum-of-three shared an Instagram video showing plates piled high with meat, vegetables and giant Yorkshire puddings.

Writing to her 1.1 million followers, she said: “The Clog and Billycock never fails.”

The Clog and Billycock website says the Brunning and Price pub dates back 150 years.

The pub opened as the Bay Horse before being renamed in 1973 after former landlord Alfred Pomfret, who wore clogs and a billycock hat behind the bar.

Helen regularly visits the pub and often praises its Sunday roasts, hailing a nut roast as “the best she has ever eaten”.

The pub’s Sunday menu features pink roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast porchetta with sage and apple stuffing, a mixed roast and roast shoulder of lamb with rosemary and red wine gravy, according to its website.

It also offers a Sunday sharing board with pigs in blankets, buttered mash, cauliflower cheese and duck-fat roast potatoes.

Prices range from £19.95 to £26.95.

With its open fires, wooden floors and garden room, the pub offers a relaxed setting for family meals.

Its private dining room seats up to 24 people for business lunches or family gatherings.

The flower-lined terrace is a summer sun trap and a cosy cooler-weather spot with covered seating and an open fire.
