How to fold down a pop-up tent in 60 seconds
A pop-up tent can be pitched in seconds and, theoretically, taken down in less, making them perfect for music festivals, casual camping or even waiting in the queue at Wimbledon overnight.
Their problem is that they’re not actually as easy to put away as they should be. Angle it right, and the tent folds away as easily as it popped up. Approach without a plan, and you’ll find yourself wrangling with a seemingly live tent that refuses to fold back into its circular bag.
Here’s my step-by-step guide on how to put away a pop-up tent in less than 60 seconds, to help you avoid that problem. Watch the video to see exactly how I do it.
1. Unzip the doors
This is to let any air escape. Otherwise, you’ll find it balloons out as you try to fold it.
2. Gather the poles
Find the highest arch on both sides, then pull them together into the middle.
