‘It smells just like I remember!’ 90s kids say as cult scent returns to The Body Shop, but they all have the same issue
IT was the scent of the 90s for many.
And now fragrance fans are celebrating, after discovering that The Body Shop’s Dewberry mist has returned to store.
Laura took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share the exciting new arrival, writing: “For all you 90s kids, Dewberry is back at The Body Shop!”
She also shared a picture of the fragrance mist on The Body Shop website, which showed that the product is “in demand” with over 100 sold.
And the comments section was immediately filled with people weighing in on the cult comeback, with one writing: “Just ordered, so excited”
“Loved it in the 90s!”

“Omg that’s a blast from the past,” another added.
“I can smell this post,” a third commented.
“I had an email re this and the memories flooded back!” someone else said.
“I need to go in-store to smell first to see if it is the same!!”
“I used to literally drown myself in this before school,” another wrote.
“Anyone smelt it? Is it exactly the same? OMG what a throwback,” someone else said.
“Wished they kept the original label, it smells just how I remember it,” another commented.
However, other people admitted they have an issue with the price tag for the mist – as it’s a whopping £14, while the oil in the same scent is £20.
“Can’t believe the price,” one wrote.
“Wow, shame it’s not throwback price too lol,” another said.
“Still £14 for the mist!” a third commented.
“I won’t be getting any at that price,” someone else sighed.
Are dupes worth it?
THE Sun asked an independent perfume expert to carry out blind smell tests of popular perfumes and their high street “dupes” to see if the budget versions lived up to the originals.
Noemie Maury is a senior fragrance evaluator who has worked with major fine fragrance and toiletries brands for over a decade.
“High street chains can create perfumes cheaply by buying them from big fragrance manufacturers which grow their own ingredients in-house,” says Noemie.
“Because they use oils from flowers they grow themselves instead of importing ingredients, they save on costs and can create fragrances for high street brands at a discount price.”
It means they can lack the depth and complexity of more expensive brands which use a wide variety of more expensive ingredients.
“I remember getting a whole gift set in a beautiful metal box for 20 quid back in the day!” another pointed out.
And while others were less convinced by the comeback, with one saying it “should be left in the 90s”, there were also those who pleaded for the return of other throwback scents.
“It’s back! Just need Oceania now,” one wrote.
“Just need Fuzzy Peach now,” another pleaded.
“Bring back Lychee,” a third commented.
“I want Rasberry Ripple bubble bath back!” someone else added.
