At the moment, Randstad is looking for people to join its team as care assistants, with the successful candidates providing “vital care across the stunning Scottish islands”. There are flexible opportunities available across community care, care-at-home, and residential care settings.

According to the job posting on Diversity Dashboard, the care assistant position comes with a salary of between £19 and £26 per hour. In addition to this “competitive pay rate”, other benefits of the role include access to free eLearning and continuous professional development.

Randstad states that the successful candidates will be able to “enjoy living in and exploring” Scotland’s beautiful islands during their off-days. All of the spectacular islands in the country each have their own unique character, history, and culture, as well as picturesque beaches and fascinating attractions.

While working, the care assistants will support individuals with diverse needs, such as elderly care, dementia, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and “challenging behaviour”. According to Randstad, you will help these individuals “maintain their independence, dignity, and wellbeing”.

Among the key duties of the job will be helping with daily tasks, preparing meals, administrating medication, and moving and handling. You will additionally be expected to provide general domiciliary support, while also building meaningful relationships with service users.

Those who are considering applying for the care assistant jobs should possess at least one year of either residential or community-based UK care experience. Meanwhile, you should also have up-to-date training in moving and handling, as well as medication administration.

Other desirable attributes according to the job listing are strong communication skills, the ability to work well in a team, and the capacity to be self-reliant. Additionally, it is important that you have a full UK driving license, access to a vehicle, and the right to work in the UK.
