KLM Amsterdam to Teesside flight diverted after ‘technical issue’
The KLM aircraft took off Amsterdam around 7.20pm on Thursday (August 13), bound for Teesside Airport.
But as Embraer aircraft, operating flight KL967, was heading over the English Channel it was forced to make a U-turn and return to Schiphol, landing less than an hour after take-off.
KLM has confirmed the almost ten-year-old plane suffered a technical issue.

After the passengers landed back in Amsterdam, they were moved to a separate KLM aircraft which took off over an hour later, at 9.30pm.
It landed back at Teesside around 10.30pm.
A spokesperson said: “After the aircraft returned to Schiphol due to a technical issue, the flight to MME was able to operate with a replacement aircraft, with a delay of approximately two hours.”
