Around 200 tonnes of straw caught fire
A large straw fire “continues to burn out” three days later, a fire service has said. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue was called to a large fire on Friday evening (August 28) on Stow Road in Kimbolton.
Firefighters arrived to around 200 tonnes of straw on fire. Nearby residents were warned to keep their windows and doors closed as the fire was expected to “burn for some time”.
The fire service has provided an update on the fire today (Monday, August 31). A fire spokesperson said: “Crews continue to revisit the area regularly to reinspect the fire. It will continue to burn out.”
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
