Let’s Go Hydro proposes major Belfast development

The Let’s Go Hydro investment, if approved by the planning committee, is expected to generate an economic benefit to the area including employment.

Ireland’s “largest water park” Let’s Go Hydro is to propose a major development in south Belfast.

The popular Carryduff resort’s pre-application notice (PAN) will be before Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council’s planning committee next week.

According to the PAN, the proposal includes; replacement of existing marquee padel tennis building, a golf driving range and indoor golf simulator facilities and relocation of existing glamping pods/safari lodges/houseboat.

An online consultation is currently available with planning consultants O’Toole & Starkey.

It reads: “We would appreciate any feedback you might have in response to the draft proposal. All your comments will be considered before a planning application is submitted to the council.”

The application is being made by ‘Belfast International Watersports ltd’ based in Royal Avenue in the city.

It adds: “All comments should be submitted by 1st March 2026 to ensure they are given consideration before submission of the formal planning application.”

The Mealough Road site is advertised on its website as “Ireland’s largest water park and adventure destination” with a huge inflatable obstacle course. The Let’s Go Hydro investment, if approved by the planning committee, is expected to generate an economic benefit to the area including employment.

A further public consultation is also expected to be held at a later stage if the proposal is entered as a full planning application with finalised designs.
