M56 LIVE as all traffic stopped on motorway near Manchester Airport with queues building amid ‘multi-vehicle crash’
Delays are building on the M56 motorway amid reports of a crash.
All traffic has been stopped on the eastbound side of the motorway this morning (Wednesday, September 16). Traffic is stopped from junction seven for Bowdon to junction six for Hale.
Motorway cameras show queues building up to the incident. In a post on X at 9.50am, National Highways said: “Traffic has been stopped on the M56 eastbound between J7 and J6 due to a multi-vehicle collision. @manairport.

“Emergency services are en route. There are currently delays of 25 minutes on the approach.”
