M6 crash RECAP as all traffic held on motorway in Greater Manchester – latest updates
Traffic was at a standstill on the M6 near Wigan following a ‘multi-vehicle’ crash today.
Emergency services were on the motorway following the incident which was first reported at around 5pm on Tuesday (September 15).

Pictures from the road show the northbound carriageway blocked of by firefighters and traffic police.
Traffic monitoring tool Inrix says: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to multi-vehicle accident on M6 Northbound at J26 M58 (Orrell Interchange).”
