A devastating end to a big week confirmed (Picture: BBC / Metro)

EastEnders was home to carnage and devastation aplenty once more as new bride Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) was left wailing in despair after her big day ended in complete and utter disaster.

The iconic show schemer thought she’d found her one true love in Max Branning (Jake Wood), who let her down colossally by ending their marriage just hours after they exchanged vows.

Max was rushed to hospital with a heart attack due to the stress of ex Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who he claims to be in love with, threatening to expose his secret affair with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy).

After a close call, he resolved to listen to his heart (literally) and ended things with Cindy, before confessing his love to Linda. Cindy was devastated but Max will pay given that she’s just uncovered his sordid affair with Priya.

Elsewhere, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) antagonised her loved ones after she stole Charlie’s cab and refused to apologise to Zack Hudson (James Farrar), who got attacked by the owner of said cab when he showed up at the Vic demanding his motor back.

With it all kicking off in Alert Square, you’re no doubt eager to find out what’s in store tomorrow – and we’ve got you covered!

The question is: will Kat do so before it’s too late? It’s sadly been confirmed that Zoe is set to die in upcoming scenes, with the bang to the head she sustained earlier in the week thought to be the culprit.

The emotional scenes will transpire over the next few episodes, with Kat set to find her daughter’s lifeless body in the aftermath of what transpires tomorrow.

The question is: will the mother and daughter duo’s final exchange be one of anger?

Or will they manage to smooth things out before devastation strikes?

EastEnders airs these scenes Thursday September 10 at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer
