The severe weather has caused a shortage of trains which will cause disruption on the line between Chester and Wrexham General this afternoon and evening, Transport for Wales has warned.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Chester (CTR) and Wrexham General (WRX).

“We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day,” the operator said .

“Due e to a shortage of trains as a result of extreme heat, fewer trains are able to run between Chester and Wrexham General.

“Please continue to travel as planned, but expect cancellations on your journey between Chester and Wrexham General and travel on the next available service.

“Rail services are expected to be busy meaning conditions on board could be very warm. Customers who are feeling unwell should consider whether they need to travel. If you do travel, you should bring water, stay hydrated and speak to a member of the onboard team immediately if you begin to feel unwell.”

TfW apologised for the disruption.
