A man in his 50s and woman in her 20s were killed at the industrial premises
Two people were killed in a workplace incident this morning (Monday), according to Gardaí. The incident happened at an industrial premises in Banagher today (September 28), at approximately 11.40am.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident where a man, in his 50s and a woman, in her 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their bodies remain at the scene.
Post-mortem examinations will take place at Tullamore General Hospital at a later date, and the coroner has been notified. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified.
A spokesman for the HSA said: “The Health and Safety Authority is aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation. As such, no further information is available at this time.”
