Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force investigating suspected criminal activity linked to the Belfast INLA have recovered a quantity of drugs and cash and arrested a man following a search in Antrim on Friday, 7th August.
The 29-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B controlled drugs, money laundering, and child cruelty, following the discovery of drugs hidden in a young child’s bedroom. He has since been released on bail to allow for further enquiries to be carried out. The drugs were recovered with the help of Police Dogs Kodi and Larry.
Paramilitary activities are targeted through the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF), which is a multi-agency task force consisting of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the National Crime Agency and HM Revenue & Customs.
Set up in 2017 with funding from the Executive Programme on Paramilitarism and Organised Crime, this is a partnership that allows the sharing of resources, capacity and capability with a focus on disrupting paramilitary crime groups and making our communities safer.
