Man arrested as police called to ‘unexplained death’

Further tests are being carried out into the cause of death of the man

A man has been arrested after police were called to an “unexplained death”. Norfolk Police were called to a property in Rectory Road, Outwell, near Wisbech, at around 12.40pm on Saturday, June 6.

Officers found the body of a man in his 80s inside the property. The death is being treated as “unexplained”. Officers arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of manslaughter on June 12.

A police spokesperson said: “He has been bailed to appear at King’s Lynn PIC on September 14, 2026.

“A Home Office post mortem examination carried out last week found the cause of death to be unascertained and further tests will now be carried out. Enquiries into the circumstances around the man’s death are ongoing.”
