Man climbs Swan Lane Mills scaffolding as fire crews attend
Video from the scene shows fire crews outside Swan Lane Mills with an aerial ladder platform deployed near the building.
Footage appears to show a man partway up the mill, visible through the scaffolding.

It seems as though the incident attracted a crowd of spectators, with one exclaiming in the video: “No way”.
In a comment to the Bolton News, one witness described the man to be “dancing away”.
He added: “I don’t think he wants to come down”.

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for comment.
Swan Lane Mills is a Grade-II listed building and an important part of the borough’s industrial heritage.
Located between Great Lever and Daubhill, the building was designed by renowned mill architects Stott and Sons of Oldham and was once recognised as the largest cotton spinning mill in the world.
