A man was found with injuries before emergency services taped off a town centre road on Sunday (February 1). Police and paramedics were called to the Hibel Road area of Macclesfield between 4.30am and 5.30am to reports of a man having suffered injuries.

Hibel Road was closed off by emergency crews between Jordangate and Churchill Way with motorists urged to avoid the area throughout the morning amid enquiries. Cheshire Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

The force is asking anyone with any information about the incident or any dashcam footage to contact police as they establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A statement shared by Macclesfield Police said: “Sometime between 4.30am and 5.30am this morning (Sunday 1 February) officers in Macclesfield responded to reports of an incident in the Hibel Road area of the town, where a 53-year-old local man was reported to have sustained injuries.

“As result, Hibel Road remains closed between Jordangate and Churchill Way, with motorists advised to find alternative routes where possible.

“Anyone with any information or dashcam footage that may aid officers in establishing the circumstances surrounding the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police via the website, or on 101, quoting reference number IML-2262347.”
