Officers tracked the trio down, and found them in possession of stolen perfume. Officers arrested the three people. One of the three, a 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife. He has since been bailed.

The stolen items were returned to Next. A police spokesperson said: “Earlier this week, we received a call about a group of three people doing a bit of ‘unpaid shopping’ at Next in Huntingdon.

“Neighbourhood officers were given a description and set off to track them down. It didn’t take long to catch up with the trio, who were still nearby and very much in possession of the stolen perfume. Not quite the getaway they were hoping for.
