Drivers were advised to find alternative routes
A man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital following a crash on a Peterborough road. Cambridgeshire Police were called to a single vehicle collision in Eastfield Road at about 1pm on Sunday (September 6).
Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene. The passenger in the vehicle, a man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, a force spokesperson confirmed. Drivers were advised by the force to find alternative routes at the time of the incident.
The driver, a 27-year-old man from Peterborough, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop. He remains in custody at Thorpe Wood police station.
