Man seriously injured in 2am ‘disturbance’ at Carterway Heads off A68
Police were called by paramedics to Carterway Heads near Derwent Reservoir around 2am.
A man in his 40s was found seriously injured after being attacked during an “altercation”.
His injuries are not life-threatening, and he remains in hospital at this time.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, and remains in police custody.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Just before 2am today (Thursday), we received a report via the ambulance service of a disturbance in the Carterway Heads area of Northumberland.
“It was reported that an altercation had occurred at a premises, during which a man had been assaulted.
“Emergency services attended and found a man, aged in his 40s, who had sustained serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening. He is currently in hospital receiving treatment.
“A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody at this time.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
