Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward
A man has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car at the Asda superstore in Bangor, Co Down.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the supermarket on Market Square in the city on Saturday afternoon.
The area was closed off for a time but has since reopened.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in Bangor are investigating the report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the Market Square area of the city at approximately 12.50 pm today, Saturday 22nd August.
“Officers and colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene, and the male pedestrian was later transferred into the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service for treatment of injuries.
“Part of the road was closed for a time as emergency services dealt with the scene, but has now reopened.
“Anyone with information about the collision or who has dash-cam footage of what happened is asked to contact police using the witness appeal form at www.reporting.psni.police.uk/appeals quoting reference 608 22/08/26 or call 101.
