Morrisons announces major delivery change in UK supermarkets

A further 300 Morrisons Daily branches across England and Wales will join the Snappy Shopper platform.

It means more customers will be able to order groceries and household essentials from their local store through the rapid-delivery app.

The full Morrisons Daily convenience range will be available, including everyday essentials, fresh food, Morrisons Savers products, own-brand lines and multibuy promotions, as reported by creatorzine.com.

Customers spending more than £35 will qualify for free delivery.

The expansion follows growing use of the service across the Morrisons Daily estate, where orders have reached an average value of £31.

The next phase of the rollout is expected to be completed during August.

Charlotte Exell, group online director at Morrisons, said: “We’re pleased to expand our Snappy Shopper partnership across our Morrisons Daily stores, making it even easier for customers to shop with us.”

She added that the move would give more households across England and Wales access to home delivery of Morrisons’ fresh food and grocery range.

Stores adopting Snappy Shopper’s technology will also be able to fulfil orders placed through the Foodhub platform, providing another way for local customers to shop.

Deliveries will continue to be fulfilled by Nash, with JetGo serving as the preferred last-mile delivery partner.

Mike Callachan, chief executive of Snappy Shopper, said the expansion reflected the success of the partnership so far and its goal of bringing rapid grocery delivery to more communities.

He said combining Morrisons Daily’s convenience range with Snappy Shopper’s technology would also help participating retailers reach more customers and increase online sales.
