Branch 14 Coffee Bar, on Ringley Road, has been a popular family-run café for the past five years.

Sadly, on Sunday, February 1, it closed its doors for the final time.

In an emotional message shared with customers, Branch 14 Coffee Bar said: “What a journey it’s been.

“Thank you truly to everyone who has come to see us this weekend to support us and say goodbye, it has meant the world to us.

“We will always be so grateful for the love and the support from friends and customers over the last five years.

“It has meant more than we can ever put into words.

“Thank you for every visit, every chat, every coffee, and every laugh.

“This place was never just about coffee – it was about community, and we will carry that with us always.”

Regulars poured in throughout the weekend to say a final goodbye to the café, which has become a hub for walkers, cyclists and residents.

Located just yards from the entrance to Outwood Country Park, home to woodland trails and the famous Ruckreim Stone settings, Branch 14 was a popular stopping point for those exploring the area.

With both indoor and outdoor seating, the café was also proudly dog friendly, with staff saying “muddy boots and paws” were always welcome.

Residents described the closure as a “huge loss to the community”, with many saying they were “gutted” to see the café close.

The coffee shop announced the closure on January 25, saying it was made “with heavy hearts” due to a “change in family circumstances”.

However, the closure will only be temporary, with the shop set to reopen under new ownership in the coming weeks.

Branch 14 said: “This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but one we feel is right for us a family.

“The shop will reopen in a few weeks’ time under new ownership, and we truly hope it continues to be a place filled with warmth, community, and great coffee.

As part of the farewell, customers were invited to share their memories in a book filled with moments of laughter from throughout the years.

“It will mean so much to us to be able to look back on the memories we’ve shared with such a wonderful community.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our journey.”
