A man who was found injured on a street in the early hours of Sunday morning has been named and pictured.
A man who died after being found “unresponsive” on a South Ayrshire street and later died in hospital has been named and pictured for the first time.
Graham Milliken was found injured by police on Dundonald Main Street at around 4.05am on Sunday, August 23. The 57-year-old, from the village, was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock where he died a short time later.
Graham’s family has been informed. Following a post mortem examination today, his death is being treated as murder and an investigation has been launched.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 25.
Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries, trawling through CCTV footage and speaking to locals in a bid to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.
The area is still taped off while a probe into the incident is carried out. Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.
Pictures of officers in white forensic suits in the street have circulated online. A number of emergency service vehicles have also been pictured at the scene.
Detective Inspector Jamie Carruth said: “Officers are in the area carrying out enquiries, checking CCTV and speaking to local residents in an effort to establish the circumstances surrounding the death. However, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information that would assist our investigation.“We would be interested to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam or doorbell footage, or anyone who may have heard a disturbance in the area that night to contact us. Officers remain in the area and anyone with any information or concerns can approach them.”Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0635 of Sunday, 23 August, 2026.
