Noah Kahan fans have taken to social media to complain about the last-minute cancellation the singer’s show at New York’s Citi Field after fans were left waiting in the rain.

The 29-year-old Vermont singer-songwriter was set to perform at the baseball stadium on Saturday, but the performance was called off due to severe weather.

“New York City update: The show tonight at Citi Field has been canceled due to inclement weather,” Citi Field announced on social media. “This was a very difficult decision to make, but the first priority is always to keep everyone safe.”

The statement continued: “For ticket holders: Refunds are available from the point of purchase. If you purchased from Ticketmaster you will be automatically refunded. Thank you for understanding.”

But many social media users were furious that the decision was not announced earlier in the day. Citi Field initially delayed opening the stadium to 7:30 p.m. and canceled the opening acts, though parking lots opened at 4:30 p.m. Kahan’s performance was then canceled altogether shortly after.

One user wrote: “Scummy Noah Kahan is putting fans in danger and making them travel to Citi Field in very bad conditions. What a sick human…”

They added: “I want Noah Kahan investigated for endangering all fans tonight @ NYC Mayor. This is a felony.”

Others lamented the fact that the show has been canceled outright rather than moved to a new date, with one writing: “noah kahan not rescheduling is lowkey so selfish this show is legit dangerous and traveling is even worse.”

Another said: You were robbed, we were robbed. Citi field did poor, noah kahan could [have] rescheduled. They took a night you were waiting for away from you, they stole it. Its a slap in the face to all of us. Actually it is acceptable to be upset to be angry. If your not, I question you.”

Kahan is also scheduled to perform at the same venue tomorrow night, and some users were appealing for help buying tickets.

One wrote: “is anyone selling tickets to noah kahan for tomorrow, my sister and i were supposed to be going tonight and she’s devastated about the cancellation. please let me know if you have any tickets priced around $180 as that’s what we paid for our ogs.”

Some pointed out the extreme lengths they had gone through to try to attend the event, writing: “I need 3 we flew from Mexico for this!”

Kahan has not yet posted about the cancelation from his personal social media accounts. His most recent post, from earlier today, read: “Strawberry wine tonight queen???”

When a user asked if he was “nervous” about a tornado warning, Kahan responded: “Tornado?”
