What will the weather be like in the North East today?

According to the Met Office, today will consist of sunny intervals and showers.

Today: A mixture of sunny intervals and blustery showers, some of which will be heavy and perhaps thundery, especially over western hills. Winds freshening once again to give a rather cool feel to the day. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight: Partly cloudy through the evening with showers gradually dying out. Becoming largely dry overnight and clear in the west, though cloudier along eastern coasts. Winds easing. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Are there any roadworks in Darlington?

• Give take traffic due to telecoms work on Thornton Street both ways between Corporation Road and Gladstone Street.
• Closed to commercial vehicles over 7.5 tonnes on Upper Russell Street Eastbound from B6279 Freemans Place to Borough Road.
• Height limit of 4.3 meters on B6280 Parkgate both ways between Neasham Road and Borough Road.
• Temporary traffic signals due to telecoms work on A68 Woodland Road both ways between Hollyhurst Road and Bracken Road.
