Sunday’s mainly dry conditions will last into Monday as we start the new working week with only a small chance of an isolated shower, mainly in the west.

Cloud will clear eastwards in the morning, bringing sunshine for a time before cloud and light drizzle drifts in from the west in the afternoon.

Tuesday morning will be cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle. Sunny spells on Wednesday morning and variable cloud with the odd isolated shower through the rest of the day along with strengthening winds.

Here’s what to expect for the coming days in Northern Ireland, according to the Met Office:

Monday:

A mostly cloudy and mainly dry day. Chance of a little rain along the east coast at first, and elsewhere in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 12°C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Mostly cloudy with showers and at times longer spells of heavier, more persistent rain, though still with some dry and bright spells. Winds strengthening Tuesday, staying strong Wednesday and Thursday.

UK long range weather forecast: Friday 13 March – Sunday 22 March

Changeable through much of this period, as Atlantic frontal systems pass close to or across the UK at times. These will bring some occasional spells of rain or showers, most frequent in the west and northwest, and perhaps accompanied by strong winds.

However, there should also be some drier interludes under transient ridges of high pressure, with longer dry periods most likely in the south and east, though even here some wet weather is likely at times.

Temperatures will be near-average for the period as a whole, but with some shorter-duration colder interludes at times when frost and hill snow will be possible.

Later in the period there may be a transition to more blocked or slower evolving weather patterns, though confidence in the detail of this is rather low.
