The fire service confirmed that a casualty died at the scene
A person has died after a house fire in a Cambridgeshire village. Crews from Ely and Littleport were called to a house fire on Eagles Lane in Little Downham at 6pm on Friday (July 31.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
“Sadly, a casualty died at the scene. Crews returned to their stations by 8.15pm. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
The fire service did not release any further details about the casualty or the incident.
