Person in hospital after falling from York city walls
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the 13-foot-tall medieval walls at around 2pm on Thursday (July 23).
The person, whose gender and age have not been disclosed, suffered a broken ankle after the fall, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
A service spokesperson its fire crew from Acomb helped paramedics move the person who had fallen.
“They used the aerial ladder platform and crew power to move the casualty into an ambulance to be taken to hospital,” the fire service spokesperson said.
