Person taken to hospital after flat fire in Redcar
Police, fire, and ambulance crews were called to Charlotte Street just after 1.30pm on Sunday (August 16) after a blaze broke out at a home.
The road was taped off while emergency services tackled the fire, which sparked the evacuation of a number of residents as a precaution.
Pictures taken at the scene showed at least two police vehicles parked near Charlotte Street, with officers seen standing in the road.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) has confirmed that one person was taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment for smoke inhalation.
