A person has been taken to hospital after the air ambulance was sent to an incident in Dungiven this morning.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service was called to the Hass Road area of the Co Derry town at around 9.07am on Tuesday, July 28, following reports of an injury at a premises.

The air ambulance and an ambulance were sent to the scene where paramedics carried out treatment on the injured person.

They were later taken to Altnagelvin Hospital by ambulance.

A NIAS spokesperson said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 09:07 on Tuesday, 28th July, following reports of an incident on the Hass Road area, Dungiven.

“NIAS tasked 1 Emergency Ambulance and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board to the incident.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was brought to Altnagelvin Hospital by Ambulance.”
